Go native for eco-friendly garden
Colorado has hundreds of naturally adapted native plants that enhance our unique landscape. However, many are threatened because of rapid urbanization and development.

Pruning, spraying can aid trees with fire blight
Last year, I noticed some branches on my apple and crabapple trees turned black. What should I do now?

Homegrown leafy veggies pack nutritional punch
Is it really worthwhile to grow your own lettuce or spinach?

Decrease wasted water
I've heard that water prices may increase. What can I do to make sure that I don't waste water in my landscape?

Snow causes broken branches, mold
What effect will the heavy snows this past winter have on my yard?

Easygoing herbs do best in full sun
Most herbs require full sun for at least six hours a day; a somewhat protected area from our strong winds; a fertile, well drained soil; and a water source. They';ll need supplemental watering for an optimum harvest. If you figure you can provide these necessities, then decide whether to grow your herbs in containers, a separate garden plot, or tucked in among your flowers or vegetables. All methods will work.

Prepare yards, gardens now for a more successful spring
The gardening season is coming to an end, which means that this is the last Dig It of the year. For any lingering gardening questions, contact the master gardeners at the number below.
